MY ROLE

Building a new DS

The job I had to do in CaixaBank was to built the new Design System for every channel the bank has.

Cashiers, TPV, App, the portal, etc.

The old design system was failing to produce good results, so we took our short health check quiz to determine what we could do to improve its performance.

So we needed to create the first fully responsive component library for the brand.

We delivered  more than 100 components, recipes, templates and variations, covering nearly 100% of the use cases across platforms. Of course the main point was to connect with technology first, so all we were doing was possible technically.

With a collaborative approach, we prioritized efficiency, consistency, and scalability for the bank brand every step of the way.

Caixabank, as a company, knew it has to change. Today’s financial services companies are deep into a digital transformation.

CONSISTENCY

Multichannel Redesign

There were several important projects at Caixa Bank that I would like to highlight.
The first one, that I already mentioned, was to built the new omni channel design system.
But there were more.
We also worked in the reorganization of the information shown in the app. CaixaBank has so many tools and discounts that most of the users don't even find.

In this project, both business and uxers worked together to find the best possible architecture, thinking about the user but also thinking about the time to market of every action. All this in order to respect both goals, from business and accessibility.

SAFE TO SPEND

Redefine initial page

In this project, both business and uxers worked together to find the best possible architecture, thinking about the user but also thinking about the time to market of every action. All this in order to respect both goals, from business and accessibility.

One of the most important projects was to redefine the initial page of the app. Previously you could only see your total amount and some of your last movements. We wanted to give more value with the knowledge we had about the user. Because if CaixaBank is your bank, and knows where and when you spend your money, why would you need a fintech which is just another app connected to your account (which is always a big issue for the user).
All this said, we rethought what was more valuable to The user, creating personal notifications of their most used movements, future bills, etc.
Also, the project "Safe to Spend" had been something we worked for several months. How to show to the user that they cannot use all the money they have on their account because in a couple of days they will need that money for (for example) their rent?
This and other projects has been thoroughly studied and worked with research and testing (with and without UI design) to deliver the best results.
